Obituary for Ronald Ralph Prukop

Ronald Ralph Prukop, age 83, died on May 25th, 2018 at 3:00pm at the Chateau at Valley Center Memory Care, Renton, Washington, following a long illness with Multiple System Atrophy and Alzheimer’s disease.
Ronald was born October 9th, 1934 in Cortez, Colorado to Ralph Prukop (born Aguilar, Colorado), and Eleanor Aline Clever (born Paterson, New Jersey), along with his one sibling, Raymond Oliver Prukop who recently passed away this past January. Raymond is survived by his wife Patricia “Patsy” Lorrene Baker Prukop and their three children, Marvin, Joan & Janelle.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Madeline Catherine Reul Prukop and their three children, daughters Renée Marie Ford, husband Barry Todd Ford and their children Chloë and Bryce; Julie Lynn Tatarek, husband Daniel Ray Tatarek, and their children Jordan and Devon; and son, Keith Raymond Prukop.
At age 6, Ron’s family moved from Colorado to Sumner, Washington, where he graduated from Sumner High School in 1952, at the age of 17. A month later he hired on at The Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle, Washington as a draftsman in training. In January 1955 he joined the United States Air Force where he trained at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, then was transferred to Roslyn National Guard Station, in Brooklyn, New York, where he met Madeline, they married on September 2, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, and he then headed to Indian Mountain Air Force Base near Hughes, Alaska and ended his military service November, 1958, at Blaine Air Force Base in Washington State.
After the military, Ron returned to The Boeing Airplane Company and moved the family to Renton, Washington. He attended Seattle University and graduated in 1969 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1973, Ron helped build a brand new house in Kent, Washington and moved his family one more time. In 1994, at the age of 60, Ron retired from The Boeing Company. In August 2011, due to Ron’s mobility issues, they moved to the Chateau of Valley Center Retirement Community in Renton, Washington.
Ron enjoyed photography, dancing, woodworking, making pizzas, and ancestry, but his biggest love was traveling. Ron and Maddie enjoyed numerous motorcycle trips, RVing all across the United States, many cruise ship voyages, and travels throughout the world.
Ron’s presence will be missed by his family and friends, and he will be “Forever in our Hearts”.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 13055 SE 192nd ST, Renton, Washington, 98058 on Friday, June 15th, 2018 at 11:00 am with a luncheon following.
Columbarium Interment will be Monday, June 18th, 2018 at 10:00 am at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th ST, Kent, Washington 98042 for immediate family.
