Obituary for Fay G Walker

Fay Goodrich Walker died peacefully on May 7, 2018 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 88.
Fay is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rodger Walker and Susan Woodcock of Tryon, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law James and Sandy Walker of Kent, Washington; and three grandchildren, James, Jessica, and Hannah Walker of Kent, Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodger William (Bill) Walker and her sister, Lt. Col. May Goodrich.
Fay was born on May 11, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio to Bill and Selma Goodrich. She attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky where she met her husband, Bill Walker. They were married in 1949 and lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Texas, and raised their children in Ohio. From Ohio, they moved to Washington to be near their grandchildren. Fay worked as a teacher, church secretary, and hospital office administrator at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Fay was a patient and loving mother and grandmother, and she always encouraged her children and grandchildren to follow the Lord’s leading in their lives. She was a lifelong supporter of missions and was involved both in Bible Study Fellowship and children’s ministries through her church.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12th at Sequoia Baptist Church in Kent, Washington. Pastor Brian Duffer will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fay's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends and family to consider a memorial donation to Sequoia Baptist Church at 26025 111th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98030.
