Jeffrey L. “Chip” Taylor, 59, walked into the open arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, September 11, 2017.
Jeff was born May 25, 1959, in Decatur, IL, to Jim and Nancy Taylor. He graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School and lived a life well spent, having never met a stranger. He settled in Covington, WA. His career included Pac-Car, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and most recently, property management, but his passion was tutoring kids who needed a hand up. He was an avid collector of Egyptian history, various collectibles and a host of four-legged animals.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Nancy (Warnick) Taylor; brother Doug (Annette); nephew Dustin, all of Decatur; niece, Jennifer Taylor (Michael McGuire); great nephews, Aiden and Liam, all of Marion; his best friend and business partner, Kevin Turner and friend and mentee, Austin Grotting, both of Covington; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017, at Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairview Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98109 (fredhutch.org) or Northwest Foursquare Church, 34800 21st Ave. SW, Federal Way, WA 98023.
Jeff once confided he hoped some day to hear Christ say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” We rest confident he has.
