Obituary for Phillip Edwin Johnson

The family of Phillip E. Johnson is saddened to announce his passing on March 21, 2018 at the age of 89. He will be missed by his wife of 65 years, Mary, children John (Phyllis), Elaine (Mike), Christi, Bob (Paula), and Rebecca, 9 grandchildren and their spouses, 2 great grandchildren, and a whole lot of extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Orval.
Phil was born in Moscow, Idaho to Ethel and Orval Johnson. He graduated from Moscow High School and started his higher education by attending the University of Idaho. He transferred to the University of Washington where he graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
After graduation, he took a job with Boeing in Seattle, where he worked for 39+ years, with a 2 year break for military service. He happily retired to spend more time playing with his trains, his stamp collection and to do some traveling.
He was a member of the Boeing Model Railroad Club and the United Christian Church of Renton.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 pm on April 8, 2018 at United Christian Church, 15509 116th Avenue SE, Renton, WA 98058.
