Obituary for Agnes Sokolowski

Agnes was born in Cudahy, Wisconsin, the youngest of seven children. She met Marvin and married in 1963 in Cudahy where they had their first four children. A job opportunity with the Boeing Company brought them to Kent, Washington where they continued to grow their family having four more children.

She took great pride in being a mother of her eight kids and served as a mother figure to several neighborhood kids. Agnes was heavily involved in all her kids' activities. She enjoyed attending her kids' sporting events and cheering them on. In her spare time she loved gardening, flowers and reading. She had been a lifelong fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks and could often be heard encouraging them on. Making home cooked meals with dinner promptly served at 5:00 was her way of bringing her family together after a long day.

Sundays were very traditional beginning with mass followed by a large, formal Sunday supper and ending with long scenic drives piling all eight kids in the station wagon.

Agnes' faith was strong. Having been raised in a Catholic home and educated in parochial school, she continued her devotion to the church throughout her life. She has been a member of Holy Spirit Parish for the past 50 years.

She will be greatly missed by Marvin and her kids. We are thankful in the end Agnes was comforted by her family and faith.

Agnes is survived by her loving husband Marvin of 53 ½ years, eight children and 13 grandchildren.
